Here’s what’s happening in Mrs. Debra and Mrs. Sharon’s class:

READING & PHONICS:

Our reading groups are now in high gear! We are also working independently during reading groups and are learning how to effectively manage time. Some of us are still adjusting to following directions and completing the assigned work. As always, when work is not completed your child will be expected to finish before he/she begins centers. This in itself is a factor that motivates. Papers done in class are sent home, so please review all work. If at anytime you have questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me.

MATH:

We celebrated 100th day in January and worked on lots of fun activities. Our class will be learning to identify coins and their value and will also be counting money using pennies, nickels, and dimes. Later this month will begin to learn how to tell time.

SOCIAL LIVING:

In February, we will be studying about our presidents and other national symbols. We will make predictions about whether Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow and if we will have an early spring!

We all had a great time hibernating with our blankets and teddy bears. We are now ready for winter to be over.

Thanks to everyone who has been sending donations for the prize box. It is greatly needed.
